Biblical Families
"By faith Abraham obeyed...by faith Sarah received power..." (Hebrews 11:8, 9).
For the past two weeks, we have enjoyed lessons from our summer series Biblical Families by John Malone and Bryan C. Jones. Brother Malone kicked off the summer series with lessons from Adam and Eve from Genesis 1-4. The timing couldn't have been better since Indiana, thanks to Gov Braun, joined Texas and Tennessee in declaring June as Nuclear Family Month, as opposed to Pride Month. Adam and Eve were the first nuclear family. The nuclear family is the only way to fulfill God's mandate to "be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth..." (Genesis 1:28, 9:6).
Brother Jones continued last week with Noah and his family (Genesis 4-9). He pointed out the different between the unrighteous line and the righteous line. The unrighteous line began with Cain but was destroyed in the flood. The righteous line began with Seth, Adam and Eve's third son, and continued on through Noah. We came away especially from this one biblical truth: the faith (or the lack thereof) of one person can change the direction of a family. Which direction are you leading your family tree?
This Wednesday we have the blessing to meet Thomas Yukich (pronounced YOO'-kitch), who preaches for the Worthington congregation in Louisville. Thomas is originally from Davidson, NC, and is a 2024 graduate of Freed-Hardeman University, where he met his wife Annelise. Thomas is currently pursuing a Masters degree at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Some things he enjoys doing in his free time are running, hiking, and camping. He is passionate about seeing individuals, families, and churches grow and mature as disciples of Jesus.
Thomas will present a lesson from an episode in the life of Abraham and Sarah (Genesis 12-25).
Let us support and encourage these brothers with our attendance and attention to the message they have prepared from God's Word.
To God be the Glory,
Eric Welch
